Indian Olympian and murder accused Sushil Kumar seeks TV in his cell at Tihar jail

If reports are to be believed, jailed Indian wrestler accused in murder case Sushil Kumar wants a TV set installed in his cell.

A  report attributed to Tihar jail authorities said that Kumar wanted updates on all the wrestling matches taking place in the Tokyo Olympics. Interestingly such demands of luxury coming from the jailed athlete is not the first one.

According to reports, earlier he had demanded a high-protein diet along with supplements as long as he is housed in the jail and has sought through his lawyer petitioned at Rohini Court, Delhi in this matter.

Vitamin supplements like Omega 3 Capsules to Jointment Capsules, Pre-Workout C4 and Hyde, Multivitamin GNC, Exercises Bands and others were in the demand list which was termed as 'essentials' for the jailed athlete by his counsel who also placed the argument that Kumar is the only Indian to have won medals for India twice at Olympic event in wrestling category..

However, the court dismissed the application stating 'everyone is equal before the law'.

In the first week of May, Sushil Kumar became a sensation for the wrong reason as his name was dragged in the murder of a wrestler Sagar Rana at Chhatrasal Stadium.

A scuffle is said to have broken out and gunshots were heard, following which police rushed to the spot and rushed wrestlers to hospital but Rana, one among the injured, succumbed at the trauma centre .

The police managed to arrest Sonu Mahal and Kumar in this connection and were later sent to jail. The Olympian Kumar however has denied his role in the murder.
