FIR registered against wrestler Sushil Kumar for murder at Delhi Stadium

FollowIndian wrestler Sushil Kumar has come under the scanner following a brawl inside the Chhatrasal Stadium complex in Delhi, leading to the death of a wrestler. He has been named in the FIR filed with Delhi Police.
PTI reports that according to police, a 23-year-old wrestler had died while a couple of his friends were seriously injured. They alleged that other wrestlers inside the venue attacked them.
Police also reported that they had received reports of supposed gunshots inside the venue on Tuesday and Wednesday night. Upon their arrival, they spotted five vehicles outside the venue.
During the enquiry, it was alleged that there was a brawl involving Sushil Kumar, Ajay, Prince, Sonu, Sagar, Amit and a few more in the parking lot. Police later registered cases at the Model Town police station under the Indian Penal Code Arms Act.
The injured ones were taken to BJRM Hospital. "The crime scene as well as all the five vehicles were inspected. During inspection, one double barrel loaded gun with five live cartridges were found in one Scorpio and two wooden sticks were also recovered from the spot. All the five vehicles and weapons of offence were seized. The crime scene was further inspected by forensic experts of FSL, Rohini," said Guriqbal Singh Sidhu, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (northwest).
Sagar was the one who died, while Sonu was severely injured, as cases under IPL sections 302, 365, 120B were registered, affirmed Sidhu. Police are also trying to trace the other alleged persons involved while the details of the confiscated vehicles are being obtained. A Jhajjar resident, Prince Dalal, has been arrested along with a double-barrel gun.
According to sources, the brawl was apparently related to a property issue in Model Town. "It was not a case of trespassing. The accused took the victims inside the stadium where they assaulted them in the parking area. Sushil Kumar was present at the spot when the incident happened, however, police are investigating his role in the assault," said the source.
Meanwhile, Asianet Newsable tried to contact Sushil on the same, but he refused to comment.
