Portuguese football sensation Cristiano Ronaldo continues to make a massive impact in the sport even to date. Having made a name for himself in Manchester United and Real Madrid, he aims for success with Juventus.

However, barring domestic success in Turin, he has struggled at the European level. After Juventus was knocked out in the pre-quarters of the UEFA Champions League this season, rumours are high that he could be on his way out with a possible return to Madrid or United.

While both the teams would love to have him back, his transfer fee and pay could be an issue. Meanwhile, Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport has confirmed that United has possibly initiated the first contact.

According to the report, United is already in talks with the Portuguese's super-agent Jorge Mendes, while the fee reported is around £26 million. However, Ronaldo might have to take a pay cut in his salary if he wishes to return to Old Trafford once again.

The report comes after a couple of weeks back when a report had stated that United was not really keen on having Ronaldo around. Instead, it could be considering bolstering its squad with young talents for a potential shot at winning the English Premier League and even the UCL.

Ronaldo played for United between 2003-09 and made a huge impact, winning the EPL, along with the UCL and even a Ballon d'Or. He made a then-record £80 million move to Real Madrid, where he extended his legacy before joining Juventus in 2018. He is currently in contention to win the Serie A Golden Boot for scoring the most goals of the season while his team struggles to defend the Serie A title.
