Portuguese football sensation Cristiano Ronaldo is leading his side in the UEFA Euro 2020 and is scripting records, having already scripted countless many. Meanwhile, he has recently attained a historical record off-field, earning 300 million Instagram followers.
Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal is undoubtedly one of the greatest footballers of the modern-day, as he continues to script records with each passing day on the field. However, it is not just football where he has been attaining records, but also off the field.
Recently, Ronaldo hit a historic landmark off the field and it happens to be on social media. He has earned 300 million followers on Instagram, thus becoming the first person to attain so.
Ronaldo achieved the record on Friday, as was evident by his followers, while he is yet to respond and thank the fans on the same. Incidentally, he was also the first to record 200 million followers.
Ronaldo recently became the highest goal-scorer in Euro history, scoring ten goals and going past legendary Frenchman Michel Platini. He also holds the record for having played the most Euro editions (5).
Ronaldo also made headlines recently when he had removed a couple of Coca Cola bottles during a Euro press conference, which is sponsoring the event. He hinted at drinking just water, while his move reportedly cost the soft drink company a $4 billion drop in market value.
Since then, many others have followed in his footsteps. While some have taken a dig at him, some companies have also trolled him for the same.
