After being put into bat first by PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer, CSK posted a solid total of 209/5 in 20 overs. Ayush led the batting with a brilliant knock of 73 off 43 balls, including 6 fours and 5 sixes, at a strike rate of 169.77. Sarfaraz Khan scored a quickfire 32 off 11 balls, including 6 fours and a six, at a strike rate of 267.

The left-handed batter Shivam Dube contributed with an unbeaten innings of 45 off 27 balls, including 5 fours and a six, at a strike rate of 166.67.
