Indian batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was mobbed by fans for a selfie at the BCCI Naman Awards in New Delhi on Sunday, March 15. Sooryavanshi was one of the star players who were in attendance for the ceremony, where several Indian cricketers were honoured for their outstanding performances during the past season.

Sooryavanshi was in the spotlight at the award ceremony, where he shared the stage with Hardik Pandya, Sanju Samson, and Abhishek Sharma. The 14-year-old, who has been one of the most talked-about young talents since his breakthrough IPL debut season last year, attracted significant attention from fans and attendees alike at the prestigious event.
Sooryavanshi was recognised for his role in Team India’s U19 World Cup-winning campaign, especially his match-winning knock of 175 off 80 balls in the final against England, which played a crucial part in India lifting the title.

Apart from India’s U19 World Cup-winning campaign, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi featured in the Emerging Stars Asia Cup and the U19 Asia Cup last year. Sooryavanshi was India’s second- highest run-getter of the U19 Asia Cup 2025, amassing 261 runs, including a century and a fifty, at an average of 52.20 in five matches.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to be Back for IPL 2026
After his sensational performance in the U19 World Cup, where he was India’s highest run-getter with 439 runs, including a century and 3 fifties, at an average of 62.71 and a strike rate of 169.49 in seven matches, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will return to the action for the upcoming season of the IPL.
Suryavanshi had a sensational IPL debut season, where he scored 252 runs, including a century and a fifty, at an average of 36 and an astonishing strike rate of 206.55 in seven matches, and will now look to play a critical role in the Royals’ quest for the second IPL triumph.

Having gained experience from his breakthrough season, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will look to carry forward the momentum in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. He is likely to open the innings alongside fellow left–handed batter Yashasvi Jaiswal at the top of the order for the Rajasthan Royals.
