Bengaluru: India have beaten England by seven wickets in the first T20I here in Bengaluru on Tuesday to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

England captain Ed Hossel won the toss and opted to bat first. Debutant Nakul struck off the very first ball as he bowled Matt Dean to give India a great start.

England had a good partnership with Luke Sugg and Peter Blueit. But tight bowling from the Indian bowlers kept the run rate in check. Justin played a 10 ball 22 cameo to propel the score to 150 at the end of the 20 overs losing 6 wickets.

Chasing a par total on a right batting track, India got off to a fantastic start with a century partnership from Sunil Ramesh and Nakul. Sunil brought up his 50 off 22 balls and then scored a match winning hundred as he remained unbeaten and saw the chase through.

The second of the three-match series is being played on the same ground on October 3, from 11.00 am.
