The Supreme Court-appointed Justice Lodha Committee Panel has asked the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to implement the 15-step reform by October 15. The reforms include awarding various contracts, contesting new elections, lucrative TV rights, and others.

Panel members met BCCI Secretary Ajay Shirke on Tuesday instructing him about the deadline. BCCI President Anurag Thakur missed the meeting to attend the monsoon session of the parliament.

"Shirke carried a letterhead on the behalf of the BCCI chief when he met the panel members and the meeting lasted for a good one and a half hour", a source closely related to Lodha told PTI.

The BCCI is reportedly struggling to implement a few of the recommended reforms, like the one association per state, 70-year age bar, nine years tenure and three years cooling off.

Meanwhile, the panel responded there is nothing they can do given the "sanctity of a Supreme Court judgement."

The Indian cricket board will have to submit the first compliance report of the steps that will be taken to the panel by August 25.
