Are Manchester United back on track finally under Jose Mourinho?

Precision passing, attacking intent, relentless stamina – these are the things which can be related to the Manchester United team under the regime of Sir Alex Ferguson. They seemed to have lost that steam ever since the genius manager retired after guiding the side for 26 long years.

Then came Jose Mourinho and made some super-impressive signings in the form of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Mkhitaryan was unable to replicate his form that he showcased in Bundesliga for Borrusia Dortymund. Ibrahimovic also stopped scoring after finding the back of the net first few matches. Pogba has been brilliant right from the onset and Bailly has been a beast. It is only injury that has been hampering the Ivory Coast international’s form.

Now United have remained unbeaten in their last nine matches. Ibrahimovic has scored 8 goals in as many matches and took his tally to 15 in this season for United already. Pogba has come up with incredible threading passes which has resulted in goals. Mkhitaryan has been on fire ever since he made his way back into the playing XI. Wayne Rooney has also been very good compared to what he was couple of months ago. Michael Carrick has made 12 starts for United in this season in these matches the red Devils has scored 30 goals and have not lost any of the matches.

When all of these come together and the tactics of Mourinho starts working, that is when the United fans can breathe all over again. This is the United we knew, this is the United we missed, this is the kind of aggressive football which they should continue playing, so that they can reduce the gap between them and the top four in the Premier League and also do better in other competitions as well.
