Cristiano Ronaldo continues to cement his legacy as the most significant Portuguese footballer ever while having a decent time with Juventus. However, his future at the club is uncertain following a poor season, failing to win the Serie A title, along with a poor outing in the UEFA Champions League.

Consequently, he has been linked to many clubs, including returning to either of his former clubs. However, being one of the top earners in the sport, which clubs could afford him?

According to a report by Calciomercato, only a couple of clubs in the world can afford him currently. And, those clubs happen to be French giant Paris Saint-Germain and English giant Manchester United.

Ronaldo was linked to a return to Real Madrid, where he was one of the top earners in the world. However, the club has financial constraints and has already admitted that it is unwilling to have its star performer back.

He was also linked to a return to his boyhood hometown club, Sporting CP, while his mother had declared that she would try to convince him to come back. However, his agent Jorge Mendes ruled out any such move.

As for PSG, it is one of the wealthiest clubs in the world currently, owned by Qatari billionaire Nasser Al-Khelaifi. Ronaldo, who now earns around $38 million annually, could make the same at the French capital.

As for United, although it can afford Ronaldo's wages, it would not be willing to spend all its expenses on one player. However, the club is seemingly open to his return if the Portuguese manages to do so on his terms.
