Husband beaten up after minor boy abuses woman
A 27-year-old man was beaten up after trying to counsel a minor boy, who abused his wife when she went out to buy groceries.
Bengaluru: An Class 8 student passed vulgar comments at a woman as she was walking by. When her husband tried to advise him, he got thrashed brutally.
The woman is a resident of Maruthi Nagar, Bengaluru. The incident took place at 9 pm on May 6, when she had gone to a grocery shop near her residence.
The minor boy, also from the same area, passed an offensive comment. When she questioned him, he resorted to abusive language. She complained to her husband about the incident.
The husband, identified as Yogesh (27), decided to question the boy about his behaviour. When he approached him, the family members of the boy defended him and it soon turned into an argument. Residents too intervened. The argument led to an ugly brawl between Yogesh and the boy’s family. Relatives of the boy including his father, Muniraju, attacked Yogesh.
Yogesh registered a complaint at Byatarayanapura police station. He said that when his wife complained to him about the incident, he decided to go to the boy’s house to counsel him. He said that the boy’s family members assaulted him. When he told them not to abuse him, the boy’s father Muniraju and a few others allegedly attacked him and threatened to kill him.
The police had taken the boy into custody and later released him on bail.
An FIR has been registered at the Byatarayanapura police station.
