Bengaluru motorists to face traffic diversions on MG Road from June 15

Parking on MG Road, Brigade Road and nearby areas will be banned till the Namma Metro construction work is completed. Kamaraj Road stretch – Cauvery Emporium junction to its junction with Cubbon Road – will be closed for traffic.

Bengaluru: Motorists who frequent MG Road and areas nearby will have to be ready for traffic diversions from Saturday. Traffic will be diverted due to Namma Metro taking up construction work on the underground interchange near the junction of MG Road and Kamaraj Road.

Parking on MG Road, Brigade Road and nearby areas will be banned till the construction work is completed. The Kamaraj Road stretch; Cauvery Emporium junction to its junction with Cubbon Road, will be closed for traffic.

The interchange hub is expected to be ready by 2023.

Motorists have been advised to use alternate routes, reports stated. The vehicles that come from Mayo Hall on MG Road will no longer be able to take a right turn at Cauvery Emporium junction. They will have to instead move to Anil Kumble Circle. From there they will have to enter Central Street to move towards BRV junction.

Whereas for vehicles coming from BRV junction cannot turn right at Kamaraj Road and Cubbon Road junction to get to MG Road. They will have to get to Manipal Centre on Cubbon Road and move towards Webbs junction in order to enter MG Road.

For the vehicles moving from Commercial Street to Brigade Road or MG Road, they can take a right turn at Kamaraj Road and Cubbon road junction and follow the road to get to BRV junction.

Buses have been banned from entering Murphy Road at Anjaneya Temple Junction. They can take the route -- Swamy Vivekananda Road-Ulsoor Police Station-Trinity Circle-Richmond Road corridor.
