31-year-old assaulted by gang over past relationship in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A 31-year-old driver was brutally assaulted by a gang of four members over a girl.
The 31-year-old man has been identified as Ramanjanappa, who resides in Janata Colony near Shettihalli.
The accused has been identified as Seena. Ramanjanappa was in a relationship with Seena’s sister in the past, but Seena’s family did not approve of this relationship. Seena and Ramanjanappa have had many rows over this. Almost 8 months ago, Seena’s sister married another man.
On May 3, Seena passed a comment at Ramanjanappa which escalated into an ugly brawl, resulting in Ramanjanappa being beaten up.
Ramanjanappa reported that the rowdy, Seena, threatened to kill him and attacked him with weapons. When Ramanjanappa’s sister and father tried to intervene and stop the fight, Seena and his gang brutally assaulted them too, leaving his sister badly injured. He added that had put the failed relationship behind him long ago and never entertained the thought thereafter, but Seena always picked a fight with him over it. He has requested police officials to take strict action against him.
An FIR has been registered under section 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), section 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), section 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and section 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), at Bagalgunte Police Station.
