One of the famous designers in India, Tarun Tahiliani, has issued an open apology to Instagram influencer and Doctor Tanaya Narendra after the post of her experience at his store went viral.

Dr Tanaya called out his brand for body-shaming her in a social media post earlier this week. Tanaya took to her social media handle and shared a picture from her wedding day along with a caption where she called out the celebrated designer's house in Ambawatta for body-shaming her when she was at the store to shop her wedding outfit. Now, Tarun has issued a public apology on Instagram to Dr Tanaya Narendra's post about her experience at one of his stores that went viral.

On Monday, Tanaya posted a picture from her pheras as she was dressed in an Anita Donfre red lehenga. Sharing the post she wrote, "There is SO much pressure on people to lose weight before their wedding - I had that too. Family friends would ask why I wasn't "dieting" before my wedding (in a span of one month lmao). Some even went out of their way to send me "slimming teas". Bridal stores would body shame (looking at you, Ambawatta @taruntahiliani {yeah, that was a massive shame, because I'd wanted to wear a Tarun T to my wedding since I was 12. Never going there again. [also, what's with these big designers being afraid of big boobs? I cannot sing enough praises for the guys at @anitadongre, who managed to make a beautifully fitting, and genuinely lovely lehenga, all in a span of three weeks!]}) and all kinds of weird comments were thrown at me about my "double chin" and "belly showing in the lehenga haww" (sic)," read a part of her post.
"Look at me, how happy I am. Double chin and all. Just look at me. And that's all that matters - my closest friends, my lovely family, and my boy love me for who I am. And most importantly, I love myself for who I am. And that's the biggest learning I can share from my wedding. Enjoy it, because happy brides are the best brides (sic)," she further wrote.

Now after the post went viral, Tarun released a statement on Instagram to present their side of the story. He stated that the required size of outfits was not available at the store due to limited stock.

"If our communication of stock availability, timelines needed for production and customisation had made the clients feel even the slightest not welcome and acknowledged, then we are truly sorry because that is not and will never be the intent," read a part of the statement.
