After making Kochi Metro a reality, India's 'metro man' has now made another proposal, light metro for Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode. E Sreedharan also said that he is ready to take the project if needed.

Sreedharan who had on the other day said that he wouldn't be part of second phase of Kochi Metro - from Kaloor Jawaharlal Nehru stadium to Kakkanad Infopark, stated that he is ready to be a consultant on the request of Kerala Metro Rail Limited (KMRL). However, he repeated his statement that KMRL is equipped to complete the project on their own.

Meanwhile, KMRL Managing Director Elias George said the company is capable of completing the second phase on its own and would like to have Sreedharan as the consultant. 

With the new statement, it has become clear that the metro man is dreaming high for the state. He had also mooted high-rail metro trains for the state. Metro will undoubtedly change the traffic culture of Kochi, and there is no doubt that project will become profitable in some years.
