Chief Secretary asked the DGP to file his statement within a week. The ADGP had complained that Senkumar insulted him and threatened to dismiss him from service.

The alleged incident took place during a meeting organised by the ADGP at police headquarters on May 8, a day after he took charge as the police chief.

Thachankery convened a meeting of all the ministerial staff at the headquarters without reporting to Senkumar and reportedly asked them to route the files to DGP only through him. Following this, Senkumar summoned Thachankary and gave him a directive which lead to a heated debate between them.
