Actress attack case: Pulsar Suni's cellmate discloses crucial details to police

In what could be a massive turning point in the Kochi actress attack case, Pulsar Suni's fellow ­prisoner at the Kakkanad jail has reportedly disclosed confidential details regarding the incident to the probe team.

Petty criminal Jinson, who shared the same cell with Suni - the prime accused in the actress attack case, leaked details of their conversation regarding the attack to the jail authorities and later to the police team investigating the case, according to various reports.

It is also understood that Jinson carried a letter out of the prison for Suni and later surrendered it to the police. The probe team interrogated Suni again based on these developments and reached a decision to record Jinson's statement.

The Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Kochi has now passed an order to record Jinson's statement in the case, after hearing a petition filed by the probe team.

Jinson, a Chalakudy native, was imprisoned in fraudery case filed by the Nedumbassery police. The police are yet to recover the mobile phone which Suni used to record the attack and Jinson's statement is expected to shed light on the phone's whereabouts.

The actress, popular across the South Indian industries, was kidnapped and assaulted in a moving car in Kochi on February 17. There have been repeated allegations from sources close to the actress, claiming the attack was planned by some bigwigs in the Malayalam industry and was executed with their knowledge.
