Jishnu mother Chief Minister CBI probe

Mahija, the mother of Jishnu Pranoy, the BTech student who allegedly committed suicide in the college hostel, says she will meet Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan demanding CBI probe into her son's death. She pointed out that the government is not taking action against those who sabotaged the case in vengeance for staging an agitation in front of DGP's office.

"State government failed to keep its promises. I am also planning to write to Chief Minister seeking CBI probe into the case. I will approach High Court if the government is not ready to redress my demand," she said.

The relatives of Jishnu had met DGP T P Senkumar last month seeking CBI probe.

The police had assaulted Jishnu's family members including Mahija, on April 5, when they tried to meet the then DGP Loknath Behra. Following this, Mahija and Jishnu's sister Avinsha launched an indefinite hunger strike against police action.

The agitation ended after Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan promised to arrest all those who were accused in the case. Jishnu's mother had then stated that her protest is against the police and not the government.
