In a new twist in the sensational Kerala godman bobbiting case, the victim visited Sreehari aka Swami Gangeshananda at the hospital and also filed a police complaint accusing her alleged boyfriend Ayyappadas of sexually abusing her for years.

In the complaint filed at the Pettah police station, the woman claimed that Ayyappadas sexually abused her for years on the promise of marriage. She also alleged that the man swindled Rs 14 lakh from her family and Gangeshananda.

The woman also told the police that she was not under house arrest, like Ayyappadas claimed in the habeas corpus petition he filed in the Kerala High Court on Monday.

This is the first time that the woman has turned against Ayyappadas, who till now was believed to be her boyfriend. In the initial stages of the case, she had referred to Ayyappadas as her friend.

The controversial case, which grabbed national headlines, has undergone a few twists and turns since the incident took place in the capital on May 18.

The woman had initially told the police that she cut off the godman's genitals when he made sexual advances towards her. She also alleged that Sreehari had been misbehaving with her ever since she was minor. She retracted her statement last week, claiming the godman never misbehaved with her and that she was forced to implicate him in the case.

On Tuesday, a trial court denied bail to the godman and also agreed to a plea by the police, demanding a polygraph test on the "victim". The trial court asked the woman to appear before it or through her counsel on June 26 to state if she was ready for the lie detector test.

Meanwhile, DGP TP Senkumar has ordered to hand over the case to the Crime Branch. The city police have been investigating the case so far.
