A 50-year old woman and her son were abused and disrobed in public by a group of men in Marathahalli. The victims were returning home when they found a bike blocking their way. The man asked one of the men to remove the bike when they started hurling abuses at the duo. When the woman came to defend her son, even she was abused. Her hair was pulled and her saree and blouse were torn.

Speaking to the Bangalore Mirror, the woman said, "The incident took place in Kaverappa Layout in Marathahalli. We’ve never seen the miscreants near our house before. We were returning home from Kadubisanahalli on Sunday evening at around 6 pm when the incident occurred."

She further added, "They tore my son's shirt and started beating him mercilessly. I got out of the car to rescue my son and they started beating me too and pulled my hair. One of them threatened to remove my dress. I was trying to get inside the car when they tore my sari and my blouse. When I started screaming for help, some passers-by came to my rescue and separated me from the men."

When the woman raised an alarm, people started gathering and a few of them rescued her. As more people started pouring in, the miscreants fled, threatening to come back and take revenge. The victims were then taken to a nearby hospital. The ordeal is said to have lasted for 30 minutes. The woman then filed a complaint at the nearby police station. Investigating police officer said, "The woman is a housewife and her son woks for a reputed private firm in the city. She gave us the registration number of the bike on which the accused escaped. We have found out that the main accused goes by the name Sunil Kumar. The accused are yet to be arrested."

The accused have been charged with cases of assault or use of criminal force towards any woman with intent to disrobe, voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation. While a case has been filed in the Marathahalli police station, further investigation is on.
