Bengaluru: Woman found dead after eight days of wedding

  • A young woman was found dead after 8 days of her wedding and her parents have alleged dowry harassment.

Woman found dead after 8 days of wedding

A young woman was found dead after 8 days of her wedding and her parents have alleged dowry harassment. Her husband has abeen arrested and a case has been registered at Channammana kere Acchukattu police station, reported Kannada Prabha.

Harshitha (24) a resident of Madenahalli, Maddur taluk, Mandya district, was married to one Chethan (30) of Ittamadu on November 1. It was an arranged marriage. Chethan is a B Com graduate working in a private firm in the City. The couple lived at Ittamadu with Chethan’s parents. The couple were chatting up till 1.30am in the night. At around 7.30 am Harshitha woke up Chethan. He went to a nearby bakery to have tea. When he returned he found Harshitha hanging from the ceiling. He immediately informed the police.

The police have sent the body for post-mortem. Harishitha’s parents have alleged dowry harassment. The police have registered a case of unnatural death under Section 304(b) and arrested Chethan. There are no mark on Harshitha’s body.  The post-mortem will reveal if it is a suicide or murder said the police.
