VTU valuations norms changed

In a major victory to students, who recently took to the streets against the evaluation norms of the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), the university has decided to reverse its decision and consider the original marks if it turns out to be higher than the revaluation marks. Until now the revaluated marks were considered as final. There were instances when the revalued marks would render a student fail. Hence, the students were agitating to consider the original marks in the case of CBCS model.

Following the students' agitation, the VTU decided to reverse their rule and consider the original marks in case the student fails after the revaluation. This new rule will come into force from June-July 2017 retrospectively. The students can apply for revaluation from Monday, reports Kannada Prabha. In VTU an approximate 1.2 lakh students are learning through CBCS model.
