Vinay kidnap HC asks for evidence for Santhoshs involvement

The High Court on Tuesday instructed the public prosecutor to submit evidence that NR Santhosh, BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa’s personal secretary, is involved in the kidnap of Vinay, PA of BJP leader Eshwarappa, reported Kannada Prabha.

The Single judge bench headed by justice KN Phaneendra heard the application submitted by Santosh appealing to cancel the FIR filed against him by the Mahalakshmipura police and instructed the Public Prosecutor Rachaiah to submit evidence of Santhosh’s involvement in the case. Lawyer representing Santhosh argued that there are no evidences to prove Santhosh is involved yet the police registered an FIR against him.

Disapproving the argument the PP Rachaiah said the applicant does have evidences and they would be submitted during interrogation and hence the stay order on FIR should not be given.  Agreeing to this the HC instructed that barring statements issued by co-accused, if there are other evidences them must be submitted to the court and posted the next hearing to a later date.
