FollowRambhapuri mutt seer Sri Jagadguru Prasanna Renuka Veera Someshwara Shivacharya Swamy of Veerashaiva mutt of Balehonnur, has been propagating that Veerashaivas are different from Lingayata and had objected to Lingayats demanding separate religion status. Now, his school certificate stating him as a Hindu Lingayat has gone viral in the social media, reports Kannada Prabha.
As a student at the CS Patil High School in Gadag Betageri, his name was Hiremath Shivamurthayya Chennabasayya. His caste and religion as recorded in the certificate says Hindu Lingayat. He passed out of high school in 1972-73 batch. A certificate issued by the headmaster of the school on July 24 states the same, reports Kannada Prabha.
Meanwhile, a public letter that he released levelling allegations against Mathe Mahadevi has been termed as character assassination. JD(U) Mandya district president BS Gowda has lodged a complaint with the State Women’s Commission that Rambhapuri Seer has insulted Mathe Mahadevi and urged the Commission to take action against him.
