Trouble mounting for DK Shivakumar Enforcement Directorate likely to file FIR

More trouble could be ahead for Energy Minister DK Shivakumar as Enforcement Directorate may file an FIR on him after documents of alleged benami properties worth crores of rupees yielded during the raid conducted by the Income Tax officials.

Suvarna News - quoting sources - reported that the Income Tax officials who are grilling the minister over his alleged illegal properties are contemplating to refer the case to the ED after notes worth Rs 6.6 crore allegedly stashed at his New Delhi residence were unearthed, during the raid.

Besides, it is reported that the IT sleuths have collected huge documents of alleged benami properties from the minister's Sadashivanagar residence. The officials are expected to grill the minister and his family members through the night and they have sought more policemen, it is reported. It may be recalled here that hundreds of supporters had staged a flash protest against the raid in front of the minister's house. They had also tried to gain entry into the house but were prevented by the police. Considering this, the IT officials have sought deployment of police.

The officials have reportedly raided the minister's sister's house where the officials have recovered crores worth jewellery. It is reported that the bank lockers of her sister were also searched. Earlier, the officials had raided minister's father-in-law Thimmaiah's house at Ittigegud in Mysuru. More searches were conducted on the minister's astrologer and his driver too.
