Transport employees intercorporation transfers attract 10000 applications opting out of BMTC

The Karnataka State Transport Corporation’s inter-corporation transfers process has reached its final stage and will be finalised within a day or two and the final list of employees eligible for transfer will be announced shortly, reported Kannada Prabha.

The MDs of all four corporations held a meeting at KSRTC Central Office on Wednesday and decided to announce the list of eligible employees, sources say. A total of 19,414 applications were received requesting transfers from all four corporations, including KSRTC. From BMTC 10,192 applications were received, from KSRTC 5,732 applications, from Northeast 1,368 applications and from Northwest 1,645 applications were received.

Seniority has been given first preference in considering for transfers.  Based on vacancies in all 4 corporations and vacancies that could be created due to transfers, orders will be decided. Hence not all employees who have applied for transfers will be fortunate to get transfers. Future vacancies created will be filled based on seniority as per the demand of the employees.

Transport Minister R Ramalinga Reddy held a press meet on Tuesday and announced that the list of eligible employees would be announced before the festival. After that the MDs of 4 corporations held a meeting.
