The Karnataka cadre IAS officer Anurag Tewari, who was found dead under mysterious condition in Lucknow, was suffering from bronchitis. He was unhappy in his work in Karnataka and had wished to change cadre, revealed the Special Investigation Team (SIT), which had arrived from Uttar Pradesh, after conducting investigations at Tewari’s residence at Bengaluru.
The SIT also found prescriptions indicating that the officer suffered bronchitis. However, this has not been linked to the cause of his death. The team also found other papers at his house and is scrutinising. Tewari was unhappy with his work in Karnataka and wished to change cadre, the team said. The two sealed laptops belonging to Tewari will be sent to Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) for scrutiny.
Anurag Tewari, Commissioner, Karnataka Food and Civil Supplies, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Lucknow on May 17. The investigation has been handed over to CBI, following the family’s demand. The family also alleged foul play saying Tewari was about to uncover a scam.
