This is Darshan's response to rumours of him joining politics

A regional Kannada TV claimed that actor Darshan is not interested in joining politics. He will not join Congress as speculated by the media, say sources.

The sources also stated that Darshan would not hamper the love and support shown by the fans by entering politics.

But the sources also said that he would campaign for his friends in the politics. It can be noted that Darshan’s mother Meena has identified herself with Congress for a long time. She was an active member of the Party. Later she was the president of Mysuru district Women’s Congress. Meena also has close contacts with the State and national Congress leaders.

There were rumours that after Ambareesh, Jaggesh and Upendra now popular star  Darshan will also join Karnataka politics. But it now looks like these rumours are put to rest by the answers given by the sources close to Darshan.

But it is not clear that by friends he meant friends in the Congress or friends from the film industry who have joined politics.
