A man who was posing as a security guard and stealing, along with his friend, has been arrested by J P Nagar police. He has acclaimed that he was stealing to cover the medical expenses of his parents who are cancer patients, reported Kannada Prabha.

Police arrested Paresh Kumar Sinha alias Biju and Bijay Das residents of Begur  and recovered 16 laptops, 12 tabs, mobile phones Samsung, Black Berry and other valuables amounting to Rs 18 lakhs.  A complaint was lodged with J P Nagar police by Relay 2 India Pvt Ltd, located at J P Nagar 3rd phase near Mini Forest that on July 15 night the office was broken into and electronic goods worth Rs 25 lakhs were missing.  The police were investigating and suspecting the security guard Biju who went missing after the theft, they tracked and interrogated him. He confessed to the theft and also stealing at other companies.

Paresh is from Tripura and Bijay is from Orissa. They had arrived in the City in search of job. Paresh was a plumber. After he became friends with Bijay they both started stealing. They posed as security guards and targeted mainly IT companies.

Bijay would make rounds of IT companies and inquire with the security guards there if there was a vacancy. If there was a vacancy he would produce fake documents and get the job. He would work for 2 days at the company and note all the systems there and share with Paresh.  Next day they would strike, steal and escape.

He had joined Relay 2 India Company by giving only his mobile phone number.  He joined duty on July 14 and the very next day they broke open the door of the company and stole electronic goods worth Rs 25 lakhs, that included 21 laptops, 15 MI tabs, 1 Samsung mobile, 1 Black Berry.

After the police arrested Paresh, following the information he had given police arrested Bijay. BIjay had stolen from several companies at Adugodi, Koramangala in March.

During interrogation Paresh said his parents are suffering from Cancer and he was stealing for their medical treatment.  But it was found that he was a habitual thief. He had worked with HP for a few days. He was selling the stolen laptops through service companies.

DCP South Dr S D Sharanappa said that it is compulsory to get all details about candidate before appointing as security guard. The agency that hired Bijay clearly violated this.
