FollowThe Giri Nagar police have arrested five persons for assaulting a pregnant wife of a software engineer, throwing her out of a house that the couple had leased for Rs 10 lakh. Her husband was not at home when the incident occurred, reports Kannada Prabha.
Raveesh and Lakshmi had leased out a house by paying Rs 10 lakh at a building owned by Basave Gowda at Hosakere Halli, BDA layout. There are three families living in the same building. One year ago Basave Gowda had transferred the building to his son Mahesh and registered it as gift deed. Mahesh was demanding the tenants to vacate the house as it was in his name now. He was also threatening them to throw them out. Raveesh had earlier complained about this to police. The police had summoned Mahesh and warned him. But on Sunday, when Raveesh was not at home Mahesh arrived with friends and three women and threw out things from the house, assaulted a pregnant Lakshmi and threw her also out of the house. A complaint was lodged and the Giri Nagar police have arrested Mahesh, his relative Kenche Gowda and three women. Basave Gowda is reportedly absconding.
