Talks with Darshan is a fact says Dinesh Gundurao, Darshan's mother

FollowThe news that Challenging Star Darshan may join Congress created quite a ruffle in both the film and the political sector. While KPCC Executive President Dinesh Gundurao confirmed that talks indeed were held with Darshan, at a press meet Darshan preferred to keep mum and walk out when asked about it. However KPCC President Dr Parameshwar has categorically denied having any talks with Darshan, reported Kannada Prabha.
Darshan’s brother Dinakaran said Darshan’s mentality is not suitable for politics and 200 per cent he will not join politics. Drashan’s mother Meena Tugudipa said it is entirely his personal decision to enter politics or not. All such varying statements have made it even more curious. It is also said that Darshan has agreed to campaign for Congress but ha snot taken any decision about joining the Party.
Speaking at a separate press meet on Thursday, Dinesh Gundurao said Darshan is an actor very much concerned about the Kannada land and culture. He has led many agitations in this regard. If he can join Congress, the Party will welcome him. In fact discussions have been held at various levels about Darshan joining Congress. Talks were held with him also. If he joins the Party we welcome him, he said. However KPCC president Dr Parameshwar just said talks are not held in this regard.
The film industry has reacted actively to the news of Darshan entering politics. The total number of call sheets he has given and the news of him entering politics have made it to debate at various circles. Gandhinagara believes Darshan will definitely enter politics. Added to this speculation, when Darshan walked out without giving any answer to the query posed by journalists also supported the rumour.
It was Kannada Prabha that first reported about Darshan joining Congress. It generated furious debates in Gandhi Nagar. On Thursday Darshan’s brother Dinakarn’s film Life Jote Ondu Selfie was launched at Kanteerava Studio. The entire family was in attendance for the muhurta. DInakaran responded to media query stating Darshan’s mentality does not suit politics and it is 200 percent false news. Â
Darshan’s mother Meena Thoogudeepa said she is not aware of him joining Congress. Darshan kept mum and walked out when asked about it.
JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda who was present on the occasion said film personalities joining politics is not new. Many have come from film industry as he has seen. It is being speculated that Darshan is joining politics. It is his personal decision. In case he wants to join JD(S) we will welcome him heartily, he said.
