It's election time in Karnataka and politicians are finding or rather exploring ways to lure voters. Public Works Minister HC Mahadevappa's son Sunil reportedly treated 5,000 people to a lavish non-vegetarian food in Mysuru to mark his birthday celebrations. And Sunil Bose is one of the ticket aspirants for this Assembly elections.
At the foothills of Chamundi Hills in Mysuru, a massive tent was erected where one could see huge preparations for a lavish spread. According to Suvarna News, the treat was being given as part of Bose's birthday celebrations. "Every year, Bose offers special puja to Goddess Chamundi at Chamundi Hills. He also treats people with non-vegetarian food, every year," said one of his supporters to Suvarna News.
However, Bose's treat is being seen as an attempt to lure voters for the upcoming elections. For it is being speculated that Minister Mahadevappa is giving up his constituency T Narasipura to allow his son Sunil Bose to make his political debut.
It was earlier reported that Mahadevappa is contemplating to shift his base to Bengaluru and may contest from CV Raman Nagar Assembly constituency. Presently, the CV Raman Nagar constituency is being represented by S Raghu, a three-time MLA from BJP.
On the other hand, Sunil bose has always courted controversies. He was accused of allegedly forcing a geologist in the State Mines and Geology Department to take a bribe of Rs 1 lakh to grant him sand mining rights. The case is still in the court.
Bose was also in the news for partying with a police personnel among them there were anti-corruption bureau officials too. After the pictures of their party went viral, two police officers from the ACB were suspended.
Bose, who is desperate to make his mark in politics is reportedly finding ways to win the hearts of the people of his constituency. And his birthday treat was one such exercise, reports Suvarna News.
