Steel Bridge to be redesigned as to not obstruct Karnataka Film Chamber

Steel Bridge to be redesigned as to not obstruct Karnataka Film Chamber

Bengaluru Urban Development Minister K J George has instructed the BBMP Commissioner to get the proposed steel bridge at Shivananda Circle to be redesigned as to not obstruct the view of Karnataka Film Chamber. BBMP has invited tenders to construct a steel bridge at the Shivananda Circle. The Karnataka Film Chamber had taken strong objection to the plan as it was going to totally obstruct the view of Chamber. Hence it had submitted an appeal to the State Government not to construct the steel bridge, reported Kannada Prabha.

In this regard a meeting was held, on Tuesday, and the Minister inspected the progress made with regard to the steel bridge and instructed the officials to redesign the plan as to not obstruct the Film Chamber building. He also instructed to widen the Sheshadripura underpass.

The Minister also inquired about another steel bridge proposed from Minerva Circle to Hudson Circle on J C Road.  The BBMP Commissioner informed that a 3 km long steel bridge will be constructed and if the sky walk in front of BBMP office hinders the steel bridge, it will be shifted to a different place.

The tenders were called earlier and the tenders received were very high. Hence a second time the tenders are invited and yet contractors are very reluctant to apply. The tender has been invited again and on Aug 21 it will be finalised, he said.
