Amidst debates and controversies, the State government is all set to celebrate the diamond jubilee celebration to mark the 60th year of the Vidhana Soudha. As part of the celebrations, President Ramanath Kovind will address a special joint session of the Assembly on Oct 25 at 11 am. Preparations are also in full swing for cultural programmes, reports Kannada Prabha.

Meanwhile, Mysore Band is prepping up to welcome the President. Marshals and Vidhana Soudha staff are making preparations and the officials from the Rashtrapathi Bhavan have also joined them in supervising the decorations of the historical monuments. Except the Assembly joint session, the rights of all the special cultural programmes have been given to DNA Network, owned by T Venkatavardhan, grandson of Kengal Hanumanthaiah, then chief minister responsible for the construction of Vidhana Soudha.
