Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has gone all out about the schemes implemented by his government and made more promises at the Chamundeshwari Block Committee meeting in Mysuru. This is my last election as Chief Minister and If your blessings are abundant I might even become the PM, said Siddaramaiah, surprising everyone.

His speech in Mysuru was all about the achievements of Congress government. From Anna Bhagya (Rice Scheme) to Indira Canteen, Siddaramaiah took credit for every scheme and told that all other governments just speak about caring for the people, but we have made these schemes reach them and have helped them in reality.

Siddaramaiah also gave another surprise that he would contest from Chamundeshwari Constituency and end his quest as the vote seeker for the CM's post. But it looks like Siddaramaiah has a larger political interest as he said that he might even become the PM one day.

He lashed out at JD(S) and said that Kumaraswamy is trying hard to tie up with a party and to be a key player in forming the government in the next elections. "Kumaraswamy's desire will never be fulfilled," said Siddaramaiah who is confident of winning the election and forming the government without any other party's support.

Siddaramaiah drew the attention of media at another private meeting with Manjunath, who is going to contest against H Vishwanath, who quit Congress and joined JD(S) recently. Siddaramaiah has allegedly said that all people from Kuruba community should vote for Manjunath. Angered by this Vishwanath, who is currently in Mangaluru has said that Siddaramaiah does not own the Kurubas and he has no right to dictate them to vote for a particular person.

In another controversy, Siddaramaiah has allegedly angered the KPCC President G Parameshwara by saying that "Every year elections are held under the leadership of party president. But this year, it is going to be held under me and I will be the next CM."

As the days for election are nearing, Siddaramaiah's talks are making him look like larger than life. Some have even criticised that Siddaramaiah is over confident about winning the election. It looks like he is adapting the qualities of PM Modi in approaching people and speaking out loud about his achievement. Never ever has a Congressman spoken so extensively about their achievement as Siddaramaiah is speaking these days.

However, it is not only promises but Siddaramaiah has some schemes which have become popular to support his claims. But is his (over)confidence and attitude towards his present and ex colleagues justified, only time can tell.
