Siddaramaiah displeased with BJPs negative campaigning

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has alleged that the BJP leaders are desperate to get back to power and are resorting to negative campaigning about Congress government’s popular projects. From Anna Bhagya to Indira Canteen, BJP leaders are trying their best to create confusion among public, he said, reports Kannada Prabha.

He was speaking at programme held on Sunday at the Town Hall to commemorate birth anniversaries of former chief minister Devaraja Urs and former prime minister Rajeev Gandhi. He alleged that the BJP is making false allegations against the ruling government even though there are no corruption charges. BJP cannot return to power “even if they resort to acrobatics” he said. People have seen the massive corruption during BJP rule in the State. Our government has given good governance since four-and-half-year. We will return to power, he said.

He came down heavily on BJP for opposing Indira Canteen at parks. He asked if clubs can be permitted at parks why not Indira Canteen? He said for the hungry, food is more important than sports.

MP Mallikarjuna Kharge spoke on the occasion and said BJP that did not oppose setting up clubs in parks is opposing Indira Canteen at parks. BJP should explain why it is opposing a project like Indira Canteen which has been established to provide food to the poor. Opposition should caution when ruling government makes a mistake. But to intentionally find fault with good projects is not right, he said. Poet Channanna Walikar felicitated cricketers Rajeshwari Gaikwad and Veda Krishnamurthy on the occasion.
