Safer lighter fibre LPG cylinders coming your way

Soon, you will have lighter, safer and colourful cylinders that are made of polymer in your kitchen.

Unlike the regular steel cylinders that are heavy and prone to explosion, these new fiber gas cylinders or composite cooking gas cylinders are transparent and safer. For, they do not explode even when there is a gas leak or fire accident as these cylinders made of fibreglass get punctured. This is being seen as a blessing when there are countless incidents of loss of lives due to gas explosion.

Not just that, these cylinders will put an end to complaints of quantity of gas. Besides, they look better, colourful, and are lightweight to carry.

These cylinders will be launched in Goa on May 5 and they are being manufactured by Bengaluru-based Indogas company and the gas is being filled at Ramnagar in Londa near Belagavi, reports Vijayavani.

To begin with, cylinders with capacities of 2 kg, 5 kg, 10 kg and 12 kg of cooking gas will be made available. A 12 kg cylinder which is available for domestic use will cost Rs 760. Prices are still being fixed on cylinders of commercial use, it is said.

These LPG cylinders will be sold through Indian Oil Corp Ltd, Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd and Hindustan Petroleum Corpn Ltd (HPCL).
