RSS strongman Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat gets death threat

A Facebook group called 'Mangalore Muslims' has posted a threatening message on Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, RSS strongman in Dakshina Kannada district, on its page. The threatening post said "Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat is a terrorist. If he dies, will you honour him with Tri-colour flag or Saffron flag? Today is his last day... decide, (Sic)" has apparently evoked strong comments from both Hindus and Muslims.

On Friday, Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat along with BJP leaders - Nalin Kumar Kateel, Shobha Karandlaje, Sunil Kumar and others - led a massive protest in Bantwal condemning the attack on RSS leader Sharath. Despite, the prohibitory orders in place, the BJP leaders and members of various Hindu organisations took out a protest. However, the police soon took them into custody to prevent any further damage. Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat was taken in a procession by his supporters and this apparently has irked the members of other community. Bantwal has been boiling after it witnessed a series of communal clashes. The Daksihna Kannada district administration has imposed Section 144 in Bantwal, Puttur and Sullia taluks.

Kalladka Bhat is known for his provocative speeches in Dakshina Kannada district. Recently, Mangaluru district in-charge minister Ramanath Rai had hit out at Dakshina Kannada SP asking him to book Prabhakar Bhat on murder charges that Bantwal had recently witnessed. This had outraged the BJP which demanded minister Rai's resignation.

The Facebook post on 'Mangalore Muslim' mirrors the volatile situation in Bantwal. While the post has seen only three shares, it has certainly has put the district police on their toes.

However, the threatening post was removed later by 'Mangalore Muslims' Facebook page.
