Rowdy sheeter hacked to death in broad daylight two days after release from jail

Notorious rowdy sheeter Palani alias Layout Palani was chased and brutally hacked to death at 7.30 am in New Bagalur Layout on Friday. He had been released from jail, on bail, just days ago.

Palani alias Layout Palani was drinking tea at a shop near his house in New Bagalur Layout when a gang of six came carrying machete and ‘longs’ and chased and hacked him to death and escaped. He was taken to the hospital but doctors declared him brought dead.

In 2014 Palani was attacked by another history sheeter Mallesh and his gang, when he was taking his daughter to school.  Mallesh and his gang arrived in a Tata Ace and attacked Palani and fled. Fortunately for Palani, he survived.  In retaliation Palani had attacked rowdy Mallesh on Dec 17 at Tin Factory when Mallesh came out from a bar with his friends.  Mallesh was hurt but escaped. Hence both the gangs were in fury and wanted to finish each other.

Layout Palani had 22 cases of murder, attempt to murder, dacoity filed against him in 2011. He was into real estate business.  Another Palani had arrived on the scene in 2006 and wanting to be the only Layout Palani in the City, he had brutally hacked the other Palani in Hosmat Hospital premises.

The murdered Palani’s son George has grown big now and wanted to take revenge for his father’s killing.  The police say possibility of his involvement in this attack cannot be ruled out.

Incidentally, the CCTV cameras installed at New Bagalur Layout were not working due to power cut. Another report says the assailants damaged CCTV cameras and were wearing helmets to hide their identity.
