Robert Vadra owns 7404 acres Benami revenue land in Bengaluru

NR Ramesh, Bengaluru City Spokesperson, has charged that, Sonia Gandhi's son in law Robert Vadra of owning Benami land of 60.04 acres in Begur.  The property also consists of culvert and graveyard.

The land was used to build 18-floor apartments named DLF Westend Heights at Begur in South Bengaluru. Ramesh charged that the land was purchased in between 2007 and 2008 when Congress was in power at the centre. “Robert Vadra used his M/s Annabel Builders and Developers a Benami firm.

“Out of the 74.04 acres, 19.37 acres is government land and has culvert, forest and grave yard. The Siddaramaiah government had influenced the BBMP,  and Revenue Departments to get the necessary papers cleared for the project. The encroached government land itself is worth Rs 600 crore.

The building has 1,980 units and has a facility of 2,345 car parking capacity. Apart from encroaching government to build apartment, the firm was accused of taking another 14 acres grazing, and grassland to raise a compound wall for the apartment and this land acquired for a compound purpose is said to be worth of Rs 250 crore.

Ramesh has also filed the complaint before Lokayukta and with Bengaluru police about the Benami and encroachment of government land and has demanded a CBI probe as he is not sure of any action from State investigation agencies due to pressure from the government.

Reacting to the allegations on the Congress leaders in unison said, NR Ramesh is known, defamer. He calls himself as an activist, but he only targets Congress leaders. If he has guts, he should release documents and accuse BJP leaders.
“The allegations by NR Ramesh is not new; he always does this trick to get into the lime light. He is craving for cheap publicity.  The documents he claims are of Robert Vadra, and his Benami is far from the truth. This will not stand any chance in the court of law,” said Dinesh Gundu Rao, Congress Working President.

Newly appointed youth Congress president Basangouda Badarli criticised Ramesh of stooping to the lowest level for defaming Congress leaders.
“He accused all top leaders in Congress so that he can be in the news. His intention is clear. He wants to exert the pressure of BJP unit in City to give him a ticket to contest as an MLA from Bengaluru next year,” he said.
