The pro-people welfare projects that are being implemented by the government are being opposed merely for the reason that Congress is getting a good name. Opposition is jealous of government. Give appropriate response in the next elections to those who object to pro-people programmes, said the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
He was speaking at the inauguration of various civil works, estimated at Rs 625 crore, by BBMP at Koramangala. The Indira Canteen project was initiated to provide good food to the poor in urban region. But some are accusing of misappropriations of Rs 65 crore out of the Rs 74 crore allocated for civil works. Can any project be implemented with that kind of misappropriation? Public must beware of such liars, he said.
"Every programme planned for facilitating the public is termed as poll gimmick. Viewing everything from a political viewpoint will give a distorted look. Those who have made a job of telling lies must be answered appropriately in elections," he said. Free rice through Anna Bhagya, free water and housing for slum dwellers are being questioned. Why did they not take up such activities when they were in power, he asked clearly pointing at opposition parties.
