A dalit girl who had to discontinue her studies after she was allegedly raped by her own school peon has sought help from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to help her return to school.

The girl in her moving letter has written in detail about her travails and the forces that stopped her from going to school. According to the victim, suspect Vijaykumar Kalavvagol had allegedly tricked her to visit the school in Bagalkot with him in a car to know the facilities available for SC/ST students. There were three more accomplices of the suspect, writes the victim. The suspects handed her a cool drink allegedly laced with sedatives and they sexually assaulted her.
