Theatre personality and activist Prasanna will start a strike for 5 days from October 14 at Nidumamidi Mutt premises against imposition on GST on Khadi and hand made products, reports Kannada Prabha.

Prasanna had recently undertaken a Padayatra from Junjappana Gudde at Tumakuru Shira taluk to Arasikere in Hasana district to create awareness among public about the ill effects of GST on rural economy.

Now, he is on a 5 day Satyagraha refusing to pay tax to create awareness about handicrafts and their importance.  The members of Grama Seva Sangha are supporting Prasanna in the strike and have declared No Tax on handicrafts and Khadi agitation throughout the State.

Other theatre activists are also joining Prasanna. The Grama Seva Sangha is urging to make all cottage industry products like Khadi to agricultural produce, footwear, mud pots etc exempted from GST. This will attract more sales and improve rural economy, the members said.
