Maharashtra police have arrested one member of a Nepali guards gang from Bengaluru who stole 3 kg gold from the house of one Raghuraju in Lakshmipati Layout, Banasawadi. The gang was on the run in Maharashtra after stealing in Bengaluru, reported Kannada Prabha.

The arrested is identified as Arka Sai (26) from Nepal. The police recovered half KG gold from him. The other 3 accomplice are absconding in Maharashtra and the police are on the lookout for them.

Raghuraju owns a factory in Peenya and stays with his family in Lakshmipati Layout in Banasawadi. His next door neighbour is Corporator P Anand. The Nepali gang had arrived in the City last month and started working as security guards in and around Banasawadi.

The arrested Arka Sai was working as security guard at the apartment next to Raghuraju’s house. He became friendly with Raghuraju and his family.  On Aug 12 Rahuraju and his family went to Shiradi and told Arka Sai to keep an eye on the house as they would be away for 4 days.

It is also said that corporator P Anand and Raghuraju are friends and Anand had kept the gold, scared that IT officials would raid his house. However, Anand has denied this allegation.
