On Rajyotsava Day hoist State flag on Vidhana Soudha JDS urges

On November 1, Kannada Rajyotsava Day, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should officially hoist the State Flag, on Vidhana Soudha but without insulting the national flag, demanded urged JD(S) Bengaluru City Unit president R Prakash, reports Kannada Prabha.

Speaking at a press meet at the party office, R Prakash said there is no restriction in the Constitution for states to have their own flags. As long as the national flag is not insulted and other flags are not hoisted above the national flag, there is no ban on having State flags. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah must adhere to his commitment to the State Flag and he must procure the report prepared by the committee set up for the purpose and declare the flag officially, he said.

He urged Siddaramaiah to hoist the Kannada flag on Vidhana Soudha. Failing in which, he has threatened to lay siege to the Vidhana Soudha and hoist the flag along with pro-Kannada activists. He demanded the government to accord an official status to the Kannada flag.
