"My son has done no wrong. They are clean, and I am confident of that," is how Energy Minister DK Shivakumar's mother Gowramma reacted to the raid conducted on her and her son and minister DK Shivakumar.

Speaking to Suvarna News, Gowramma blamed the Central government and the BJP for the IT raid on her son and her family members. "My son as a party loyalist was striving to save the party in Gujarat. What wrong did he do? Targeting him at this juncture is not fair politics," Gowramma said.
In fact, the Income Tax officials also raided Gowramma at her farm house at Kodihalli near Kananakapura from 8 am to 2.30 am between Wednesday and Thursday. She said "I was not aware of they were. They came to my house and said they want to talk to me. I let them inside. They spoke to me cordially and said they are government officials. Till they took my signatures on some papers, they did not reveal that they were there to raid my house." She told the television channel that she did not prevent them from discharging their duties. The officials verified various documents found at her house till Thursday early morning.
Gowramma further said that "My sons have worked hard and earned fame and money in the society. They will not be perturbed by this developments. They will overcome this too," Gowramma told the channel.
She further said that she has not been able to speak to Shivakumar as the IT officials had seized her phone. Only after they left from her house, she realised the raid on her son and his properties, she added.
