Karnataka minor raped in front of boyfriend, threatened with video footage
- A minor girl from Davanagere was caught, and filmed, by assailants when she was with her boyfriend in the Joldal forest premises
- Using the captured footage, the group threatened the girl and then raped her in front of her boyfriend.
FollowA minor girl, reportedly hailing from Bhadravathi, was on a family tour to Joldal Temple in Davanagere. Reports suggest the girl was in a relationship with a cousin, who had accompanied the family for the temple trip.Â
After worship at the temple, the couple is believed to have wandered into the forest in Joldal, Davanagere. However, tragically, a group of assailants from the Joldal village spotted the couple, and filmed them in a compromising position. The group then threatened the couple with the video, claiming that they would 'release' the footage. Using this threat, the group gang raped the minor girl in front of the boyfriend.
A case in this regard has been filed at the Channagiri Police Station. Currently, the police have arrested the boyfriend. The accused - named by the police as Ranganath, Arun and Vijay - are at large, and police are on a lookout.
