The Urban Development Department in Karnataka seems to be reacting to the anti-Hindi campaign in Bengaluru. The Namma Metro sevice has been asked to get information about using Hindi in Kerala and Tamil Nadu Action will be initiated after the response, said Urban Development Additional Secretary.
The Additional Secretary, Urban Development Department, Mahendra Jain has written to the BMRCL MD to get information from Kerala and Tamil Nadu with regard to the 3 language-policy and usage of Hindi in Metros and submit to the State Government.

The letter specifically states that BMRCL should get facts about Hindi usage in Kerala and Tamil Nadu and report to the State Government. After the public outrage and strong protests from Kannada Development Authority, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, media and civic groups, the Urban Development Department has finally taken note of the Hindi issue.
Speaking to Kannada Prabha Additional Secretary Urban Development Department Mahendra Jain said, after the response from BMRCL, action would be taken.
