Krishnappa in land scam: Governor not happy with Siddaramaiah's reply

FollowThe Governor V R Vala is unhappy with the clarification issued by the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah about the land scam, in which the Housing Minister M Krishnappa is involved. The Governor has sent a two-page letter to the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressing his displeasure over the explanation given by him, according to high level sources, reports Kannada Prabha.
An inquiry was being held in High Court, with regard to an allegation that in a transaction of purchase of 189 acres of land at Vajarahalli and Raghuvanahalli on Kanakapura Road, by the Bengaluru City Co-Operative Housing Society, Minister M Krishnappa was the mediator and the farmers from whom the land was purchased were not paid the money. During the proceedings, the HC had sanctioned that the present Minister Krishnappa, as a mediator at the time of transaction, was responsible for the nonpayment of money to farmers.
Quoting the HC sanction, BJP leader NR Ramesh had lodged a complaint with the Governor. Based on the complaint, the Governor had asked the Chief Minister to get a clarification from the Minister and reply, on May 18. The Chief Minister had consulted the Advocate General and submitted a clarification last week. It is said that the clarification stated that the land scam case is in Supreme Court and in case the Supreme Court rules that the said Minister’s role in the scam is of serious nature, action would be initiated against Minister M Krishnappa. However, the Governor has taken an objection to this explanation, it is said.
