Land denotification case: Yeddyurappa gets a temporary relief from ACB grilling

FollowState BJP president BS Yeddyurappa has got a temporary relief from the High Court after the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) withdrew its summons issued to him. had moved the High Court seeking interim bail quashing of two FIRs and also a stay on the summons.
It may be recalled here that the ACB had issued two summons to former chief minister Yeddyurappa in connection with two illegal land denotification cases.
Yeddyurappa has been accused of allegedly denotifying 257 acres and 20.5 guntas of land of Dr Shivarama Karanth Layout when he was the chief minister. The former chief minister has been accused of causing Rs 2,000 crore loss to the state exchequer by denotifying the land. The issue took a serious turn when Basavarajendra, KAS officer alleged that he was forced to testify against Yeddyurappa.
The court has adjourned the matter to August 28.
